Boxer - Below the Belt               Released: January, 1976 -

This is their debut Album.

The Photographer was Alex Henderson, He worked with Donovan, Roger Waters (give you one guess which cover!), and Barry Gibb, amongst others.

The Graphic Designer was Richard Evans, he worked on Pink Floyd's A nice pair (duh), Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs, Gentle Giant's Free Hand, as well ands UFO, Nazareth, Wings, The Who, Judas Priest and Robert Plant to name a few.

The Drummer, Tony Newman, formed Boxer in 1975, He was in T. Rex, Three Man Army, and has performed with Little Richard, David Bowie, George Harrison, Robert Palmer, Crystal Gayle, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton.   Yeah, he's well known.

The Model on the jacket is Stephanie Marrian.  She was a glamour model (google that job title if you're feeling lucky). She was the first Page 3 model for the Sun Newspaper.

The nude cover never even made it to the shores of The States.  It was released with the band photo. HOWEVER, most sellers and collectors (I know this from trying to find an uncensored jacket for this series) believe that the topless cover is the Uncensored version.  It is not.  The first release (outside the U.S.) has full frontal nudity on the back. You really need a magnifying glass to really see anything, but the critics have much better eyesight than me and it caused a ruckus so they re-issued it with a banner over her hoo-ha because they didn't find it very ha-ha.

Thanks for reading!

Happy Digging.
